ROSEDALE ABBEY Kirkbymoorside 5 miles; Pickering 10 miles. Situated in the heart of the North York Moors National Park and handily placed for touring both the Moors and the Coast, the picturesque village of Rosedale Abbey is set within Rosedale, a beautiful valley of sweeping hillsides and breathtaking views. Today, a stone pillar, staircase and sundial are all that is left of the 12th Century Cistercian Priory that gave the village its unusual name. May 2008 | The caretaker, Annie, was extremely helpful. The house was an ideal base for walking and exploring the area. The Coach House pub, in the village, provides excellent food.

Feb 2008 | The conservatory was lovely and it was nice to have an open fire in the lounge (especially in November). The location was fantastic.

Nov 2007 | We had a wonderful family holiday. Even the weather was good. The property was most enjoyable and felt like home, not a holiday let. The owner gave us a nice welcome. The pub at the end of the road (White Horse) made us proud for a family celebration. Did not want to come home. Really lovely. Hope one day to return.
Mrs Williams, West Midlands,
May 2007 | The standard of the property was very good and the views were fantastic. It was very peaceful and just what we needed to get away from it all. As the weather was really good we mainly used the sunroom to relax in which was lovely.

Apr 2006 | The house was lovely and warm on arrival and well prepared. A fire ready to light. Your caretaker is excellent and her friendly and co-operative attitude was much appreciated. The house is well situated for most of the area and with lots of local small walks around and many excellent pubs serving good pub grub it is ideal for large parties.
