The village of Danby nestles in the beautiful and peaceful Esk Valley in the heart of The North York Moors. The village has two pubs (both serving food), a Post Office & General Stores, a bakery and tearooms. There is also an excellent National Park Visitor Centre at Danby Lodge - a historic building set in 13 acres of riverside pasture, with facilities which include exhibitions, nature trails and tea rooms. The house was lovely. We really appreciated the supply of spare food, and even music for the piano! We'd definitely book to go to the cottage again, it was spacious and comfortable, and very clean. Thank you.

The house was very grand with a very impressive entrance hall. There was plenty of room for the 6 adults and 2 children and having 2 lounges was very useful. The children loved the size of the garden.

We love the house and the location. It has plenty of room for the children... The open fire in the front room is really homely also. We love the big staircase with the shutters at the window and also the piano. We shall return again next year.

In our opinion, the property deserved a higher star rating. Very spacious and well equipped. The kids found it great for hide and seek on wet days. Our 2 year old loved the grand piano (shame you can't take the batteries out!)

This is a very impressive house, really grand and everything inside was excellent, so much space everywhere and a really lovely large, safe garden, we had a wonderful week. So handy for whitby and redcar, both lovely resorts. We will most certainly stay here again. Thanks, Sykes Cottages, you have done us proud yet again.
